Blessings:

1. Home sweet home. I stayed home almost all day!

2. Ken made it home from his trip to Billings without any issues at all.

3. It’s been the kind of day that makes me say it’s a blessing that it’s ending.

4. Burgers on the grill. Mmmm.

5. I made a slideshow of VBS photos. That was fun!

IMAG1361-1
We had to make a quick run to Missoula, (Ken’s out of town today and tomorrow, so I just took them all with me on my errand) and Caleb was absolutely AMAZED at the “RED ROSES” growing in the median. I took a picture for him because he was just so excited about the “RED ROSES!

Blessings:

1. Childlike wonder. I honestly hadn’t even noticed the lovely red roses until Caleb’s amazement blazed through the car. Shame on me.

2. I took 7 kids to McDonald’s playland and we all survived. Whoohoo!

3. Little Man found a bevy of beauties to ogle. You can only sorta see 3 in this shot, but there were 5 little ladies there – all 2 and under. Andrew was trying to get LM to crawl to him – what was he thinking? Why would any guy crawl to his brother when there are all those beauties around?
IMAG1358-1

4. I got to see a “baby picture” of my youngest granddaughter – she is expected to make her appearance in early November, so the “baby picture” was an ultrasound shot. She has a cute nose!

5. ‘Know what I did? After the kids were in bed I ordered a small pizza just for me and watched Design Star while I enjoyed my very own pepperoni pizza!

loving children

4. Not only is she the best VBS snack lady ever, she’s also one of the best people I know.

Blessings:

1. We got everyone up, ready, and to the park to set up for VBS by 7:30 for the second day in a row!

2. We had 9 kids at VBS today that weren’t there yesterday – that’s almost half again as many! Whoohoo! We’re reaching kids!

3. Nobody was really hurt when the wind came and destroyed canopies and ended VBS for the day.

4. My kids make me laugh. All the time. It’s a good thing!

5. The day has wound down. Quiet time. Peaceful time.

June 25, 2012

Blessings:

1. Day 1 of VBS was great!

2. I love getting to know new people – some I already knew, some new to me.

3. Little Man purposely made his first sign today – he wanted “more” of Nana’s fruit dip (approximately equal parts cream cheese and marshmallow crème). We weren’t sure at first, but he did it over and over. Yep. He can sign “more.”

4. My Fabulous Felice came over here today for peace. That cracks me up. She comes to the house with a gazillion people for peace. It seemed to work!

5. My 19-year-old daughter brought me a coffee drink for no apparent reason today. It’s nice to know they’re thinking about you when you’re not around.

June 24, 2012

Blessings:

1. Reconciliation.

2. The parade was fun, and the church’s float won a blue ribbon.

3. I made hats today! I sewed two driving caps – I’m trying different patterns and methods until I find just the right one. It’s not quite perfect yet, but It’s been fun trying. Crafting really soothes my soul.

June 21, 2012

(Why does this look so blue? I’m sure it’s a setting in Photoshop CS3, but I don’t remember how to fix it.)

Blessings:

1. Summer really IS here! Warm weather, sunshine…it’s like REAL summer!

2. Senior portraits. I enjoy taking pictures of people, and I was able to have a session with a great young woman today. (I don’t have a model release for her yet, so I won’t post her photos yet.)

3. Four of my boys are outside playing happily together. I’m going to enjoy this one moment.

4. I love it when a migraine headache goes away.

5. My husband is home with me every night now! He’s no longer working nights, so I get to spend more time with him! Yay!

June 20, 2012

Blessings:

1. Kristi has been counting down the days until summer (on the calendar). I've wondered what she was so excited for - warm weather? swimming? camping? She never said...until now. This morning she looked at the calendar and said, "YES! It's the first day of summer. Maybe the big grasshoppers will be out!" Yay for summer!

2. It may not seem like a blessing to Little Man, but PT is a blessing. We’re learning more and more about why he does what he does and doesn’t what he doesn’t. He is in his “comfort zone” when his body is extended…we keep making him bend and use his abs. What meanies we are. It’s really too bad I can’t share his expression at the time I took the above shot – he was NOT happy and he’s SOOOO cute when he’s not happy.

3. This day – during which I have repeatedly messed up each thing I have tried – is almost over.

4. There are friends that fade out of our lives after a while, but their influence is still felt. I found out today that one such friend passed away. I am saddened by the loss, but I am so thankful for the things I learned from him and the encouragement he was to me during some hard times.

5. Snickers ice cream bars. Almost as good as Reese’s ice cream bars.

3. I get a happy feeling every time I walk into our wonderful trailer. (I even like cleaning in there. Crazy.)

4. I had a great afternoon/evening at the Mall with my bestie. Thank you, Fabulous Felice!

5. Bargains! Felice and I both found bargains at the mall. Fun times!

June 18, 2012

Blessings:

1. Crafting time! I made a skirt I’ve been waiting to make. You can read more about it on my family blog.

2. I love summer vacation. I have time to finish my work before dinner! Yay!

3. I had a combined total of 8 hours of sleep last night! Little Man woke me twice, but I still had some good stretches of sleep and I felt good when I woke up this morning.

4. When Austin got in trouble and got grounded to his room he completely cleaned it. What a sweet young man. Everybody (in that room) benefited because they got to have a “camp in” on the floor.

5. Today was a relaxing day. Stayed at home, worked, crafted, cooked a good meal…ahhhhh…

Blessings:

1. I was able to go have some grown-up time with my mom and a couple other friends this morning. It was wonderful!

2. My sweet Felice bought me a new purse today! I’ll show it off soon – I wasn’t able to take pictures of it today.

3. Saturday nap time!

4. It was a migraine day, but I was still able to function. That’s a good thing.

5. I love weekends.

June 15, 2012

I'm sure you wanted a view of my toilet today. :-) I cloth diaper Little Man, and because my fabulous husband loves me, he installed a diaper sprayer for me today. This will make cleaning the stinky diapers so much easier!

Blessings:

1. A diaper sprayer!

2. My handy husband.

3. Beautiful, beautiful weather.

4. My first day of staying at home since summer break started.

5. At-home movie night with my honey. We watched Man on a Ledge. It was okay – not terrible, not compelling. I enjoyed the time with my beloved anyway.

June 13, 2012

I only took a couple cell phone shots in the midst of this crazy busy day. I had to crop this so I could share it. Sorry I don't have something better.

Blessings:

1.  I made it through this crazy day.

2.  Little Man started therapy today. I think that's fun.

3. I found a few thrift store bargains.

4. Coffee is my friend.

5. The dentist's office was able to squeeze Nathan in so we don't have to have a miserable night like last night.

June 12, 2012

Morning by the campfire.

Blessings:

1. I finally figured out how to make the trailer bed comfy. It was AWESOME!

2. Have I mentioned how much better I like breaking camp with the trailer? It’s so much easier!

3. Home sweet home.

4. Easy dinner. Thank you, Mom, for teaching me how to make Depression Macaroni. Mine was made with spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce, but the kids thought it was the best food in the world.

5. The house is finally quiet.

June 11, 2012

A campsite visitor.

Blessings:

1. Camping fun.

2. Finding interesting creatures.

3. Campground playmates.

4. Afternoon naps.

5. Campfire chats with my sweetie.

4. Marshmallows.

5. Jemimah. She makes me smile.

June 9, 2012

My husband was Mr. Fixit today - working on the trailer a bit before our second outing.

Blessings:

1. My husband can fix anything! (At least as far as I know.)

2. The trailer is almost completely packed for our camping trip. I love being prepared!

3. I scored the perfect kettle for the trailer at a yard sale (along with a couple cuddly vests and a sweater). Yay!

4. My new laptop can handle the full version of Photoshop. Photo editing is so much more fun with CS3! (Yeah, CS3 is outdated – but waaaaaaay better than Photoshop Elements 7.)

5. I caught up some things that had been sitting around waiting. That always makes me feel less stressed.

Friday, June 8, 2012

June 8, 2012

Blessings:

1. Date night!

2. I got out and took pictures of flowers today! I haven’t done that in soooooo long!

3. Little Man crawled today!! Real crawling - forward. Whoohoo!

4. It is such a blessing to have a teenage son who is capable of babysitting. He did a great job.

5. I love time with my beloved.

June 7, 2012

Andrew was barking at cars as we passed. Who needs a dog? (Don't tell Molly I said that.)

Blessings:

1. I slept in this morning! First time in evers! (Okay – sleeping in is relative. I slept until 7:45.)

2. Cereal sale!

3. My new computer is sooooo fast!

4. Little Man was so cute today – we took him to the store and he put on the FLIRT for one of the store employees. It was so funny – every time she’d look at him he’d turn his head and cut his eyes toward her with a sly grin. Little Stinker.

5. The foster/adoptive parent picnic. It was fun to see some people we only see once a year. I got some great pictures, but I can’t share them. Sorry. Sad smile It was fun to take good pictures again too! It’s been way too long since I got my big camera out.

June 6, 2012

The theme for today’s 30 day challenge photo was “books.” These are the ones I am currently reading as I have time.

Blessings:

1. My new laptop! It’s seriously awesome! It’s so much faster than my old one…it makes work easy! I’m sure it will make play easier, too, but I haven’t had much time to test that out yet.

2. My husband is wonderful.

3. Chocolate chip cookies! My wonderful husband made some tonight. Mmmmm…

4. Little Man had to have blood drawn today, and he was fabulous! He only cried briefly, and he was quite interested in the whole thing. No fighting or difficulties at all. Yay!

5. We’re going camping this weekend! I’m already starting to pack and prepare. I love it!

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

June 5, 2012

Today’s 30 day challenge theme was “breakfast today.” It didn’t say it had to be my breakfast.

Blessings:

1. Little Man had his well-child check today. He’s itty bitty teeny tiny, but he’s healthy.

2. I still didn’t lose my temper when I discovered that my laptop is deathly allergic to coffee. No more Toshiba laptop for me.

3. A kind, loving, generous benefactor has provided a way for me to replace the laptop that shouldn’t have had coffee.

4. A friend brought me several yards of soft, fluffy flannel for cloth diapers. I love it!! I made the diapers last night because I just couldn’t wait to use that wonderful flannel. Cloth diapers are so cuddly and cute. ‘Love em!

5. I had a fun meeting (yes, a fun meeting) with two of my co-workers today. Have I mentioned how much I love my job?

Monday, June 4, 2012

June 4, 2012

(Sorry for the delay in posting – I’ll explain a little further down.)

The 30 day challenge theme for today was “clouds.”

Blessings:

1. I didn’t lose my temper when I found out that a beach ball had given my laptop a cup of coffee.

2. Mom’s hand is healing well! She doesn’t have to go back to the doctor for that.

3. Since I had to shut my computer down and let it dry out for a while, I had more time for housework and kid play.

4. I made this mac & cheese for dinner. I love this stuff, and I’m not a mac & cheese fan.

5. I don’t think I can adequately describe just how happy Little Man is. He is very rarely fussy, and even then it is brief. It’s probably a result of his chromosome deletion, and it might even be a less-than-good thing (because he’s so content that he doesn’t try to do the things he should be doing), but it is such a joy to be in his presence.

June 3, 2012

This sweet little baby hand is one year old today.

Blessings:

1. We had a great time at church today. Great music, good time with friends, a lot of God’s Word, and then the church voted to call my beloved husband as their associate pastor. Praise the Lord!

2. Today was Little Man’s birthday. How can it possibly be a whole year since our littlest lovebug was born. A year ago today we didn’t even know we needed a Little Man, but boy, did we! He’s the most wonderful, happy, affectionate baby I have ever seen. I am so thankful every day that he was added to our family.

3. Despite the crazy-busy day and the celebration in his honor, Little Man was mostly a happy, sweet boy today. The first birthday can be so overwhelming for little people, and Little Man handled it well.

4. There is no school tomorrow!

5. Quiet.

Saturday, June 2, 2012

June 2, 2012

Little Man’s birthday present.

Blessings:

1. My honey took care of the baby so I could sleep for an extra 40 minutes. After the last few nights, I really needed that sleep!

2. I had to squeeze it in to a busy day, but I had time for sewing!

3. I didn’t have to cook a single time today.

4. God loves me.

5. My children make me laugh.

June 1, 2012

Party time! (The processing I put on this cell phone shot makes the red balloons look pink – I did not give my 13 year old son just pink balloons. There are a few pinks for the girls.)

Blessings:

1. Austin Ray. My sweet Austin is 13 years old now! How did the time pass so quickly? He’s such a wonderful, helpful, affectionate young man. We are very blessed to have him in our family.

2. School is done!

3. We had a party to celebrate #1 and #2!

4. Baseball fun – and the best/worst part – baseball is over.

5. I get to rest my weary head in my comfy bed.
