So much for a pre-lit tree. After 5+ years, it's not so much pre-lit anymore. (Caleb took this shot - I cropped it.)

Blessings:

  1. Coffee. I love coffee. I especially love it when I mix my normal French Roast with a bit of Boca Java’s chocolately roast. Mmmm…
  2. Christmas lights are not important in the grand scheme of things. (Good thing – this could have been a disastrous day if they were vital.)
  3. I enjoyed making banana bread with two of my boys today. I can’t prove that I made it – we wiped it out at brunch – but it was fun.
  4. We have a great church family full of helpful people.
  5. I have a bunch of my Christmas shopping done.

Your tree only lasted 5 years? Oh, dear! We are on our third Christmas with this tree, I think. Hope it lasts! Christmas lights are a pain in the neck. Why are they so deceiving? All twinkly and pretty and stuff...when they WORK and aren't TANGLED.

Well, the tree itself is fine. It's just the lights that don't work. We actually spent a significant part of the day removing the lights that had been on the tree originally to make more room for good lights.
