I liked the view of the living room from the dining room…as long as I stand in just the right place the living room looks festive and happy! (Of course, if I were to move a fraction of an inch to the left there would probably be stray socks, napkins, and torn up dog toys visible.)

What a gorgeous view! Perfect.
I like the view too. I think what makes this shot interesting is inclusion of wall hanging which seems to go with the similar flow.
