We’re RICH!

Waaaaay back when – when Andrew was just 6 or 7 – I went to a 12-hour cereal sale at Super 1 (our local grocery store). I bought boxes and boxes and bags and bags of sale cereals – probably 50 or more boxes/bags of a variety of cereals. I came home and put all of them away in the huge, walk-in pantry we had at the time. All those breakfast cereals took up at least 3 shelves in my pantry. Andrew came by the pantry while I was working in there and with awe in his voice he said, “We’re rich!”

I had to laugh, but at the same time I realized the truth of his statement. We didn’t (still don’t) have a nice savings account, an expensive house, or luxury vehicles, but we had (and still have) all our needs met. To Andrew that was illustrated in the rows and rows of cereal in front of him. What a great reminder to me – with each cereal sale – of the fact that God has provided for us consistently. I am so thankful!

So, my Thankful Thursday photos…

I love it - and the story too! We do that about once a year when there is a good sale and the kids LOVE it.

Right there with you, Elli! I've never needed "stuff" to make me feel rich. When I look at my happy, healthy kids, my snug home, and my loving marriage I know that we are incredibly wealthy in every way that matters.

I laughed and had to tell my husband about the "We're Rich!" My favorite is the second! I love the depth of field.
