I’m beginning to think I’m going to have to give in and admit that the cold caught me. I’ve been running from it and trying to shoo it away with zinc lozenges, but I guess I’m just not fast enough. Bummer.
The point of that is that I didn’t go out driving around for a Scenic Saturday photo as I had intended to do. I wanted to get out and find a neat wintery scene for my first Scenic Saturday. I got out – the front door – used my 300mm lens to shoot the view from my front door – and came right back in. Well, I did take a total of 5 outdoor shots.
Photoshop friends – please tell me the best way to get rid of the power lines…my cloning wasn’t good on them, my use of the patch tool wasn’t right either…I just dunno. I need a LOT of Photoshop help! I’m so used to Paint Shop Pro that it’s taking a lot of practice to switch over.

awesome view in the distance..
hope someone came forward with how to help to remove lines.
Myself don't have photo shop program yet.
Great shot I love the framing of the mountains.
I would duplicate layer and clone then adjust the opacity slider until it looks good.
BTW hope you feel better soon.
hey my name is rachel, from alabama...i have started the 365 days as well and i have been trying to do it for 3 years now!! my goal is to finish out the whole year!!! but i love your photo for today!!!! but if you open that picture in photoshop duplicate layer and use your spot healing brush;) hope to keep up with your work!!! have a wonderful weekend!
BREATHTAKING VIEW!!!! Why go anywhere else ??? !!!
I wish I saw something like that when I open my front door!! Feel better soon, this winter cold is nasty that we have been passing around here. For the power lines what about a mix of patch and a tiny cloning brush like Sandra said on a separate layer, keep adjusting until you get what you want, I'm not great at cloning though so....
Sorry to hear you've been ill. My best laid plans got thrown out when I ended up spending a week in bed--both work days and the three day weekend. Sunday was the first time since the 28th that I left the house--and then I overdid it. So, no early start on a 365 project for me.
As for the powerlines, the best way I have found to deal with them is to first enlarge your view to "actual pixels" then use the smallest brush you can, whether in spot healing or cloning, to just cover the line at that size. Anything larger and you can end up with a real mess. I'd do this even with a duplicate layer--which is a great suggestion.
