Okay, it’s not actually monochrome, but I like what Totally Rad Action’s Troy action did for this photo.
Here’s the full color version – it’s my shot for The Daily Shoot assignment, “Leave something out today. Be visually brief. Shoot tight. Make a photo that's direct and to the point.” 
Snapshot Sunday! Ken’s brother and family are in town for a week, so we’ve been hanging out at Nana’s house having fun with them.
After a rousing game of “football,” (the only rule is that anyone over 18 is winning) Ken kicked the football out into the field and told the kids to go get it. Nice kick! 
(Molly was quite happy to chase it.)
Nathan kept claiming injury – it seemed to happen most when he didn’t get the ball the moment he wanted it. Wierd. Here Uncle Jerry and Cousin Cristina are offering sympathy to the wounded player. Or something. 
Caleb and Nathan both struggled with the grumpies every time they didn’t get the ball. 
But it’s really hard to stay grumpy when Uncle Jerry runs over and poses with you. Even Molly got into the action!

Scenic Saturday! This shot was taken from my front sidewalk. I love it when the scenery comes to me.
I made a whole post, told it to publish…it said it was done…now it’s gone. I’m done for tonight. 
Thankful Thursday! Here are two of my precious blessings – the two who were willing to come out for pictures. :-) The Daily Shoot challenge today is “Shoot wide open today. Make a creative photo that uses a shallow depth of field to good effect.” For those who aren’t familiar with these terms, that means that the subject will be in focus and the rest of the photo will be blurred. For this photo I used my 50mm lens at 1.8 (as wide open as it will go) to keep Nathan sharply focused and throw the “stuff” in the background (trees, tires, etc.) out of focus.
Here’s another one. Is Caleb growing up too fast, or is that just my imagination?
Walkabout Wednesday and The Daily Shoot in one shot!
“Find the shape of a letter in something around you-- architecture, nature, or anything not in print--and make a photo.” 
Four-year-old Caleb actually found this one. I was quite impressed. It’s the tongue of our neighbor’s trailer. I had to hold my camera up as far as I could and just keep pressing the shutter to get it in the frame and in focus. Good find, Caleb!
Here’s one more…this one was found by Andrew.
Today’s photo doesn’t follow any theme or assignment. It’s not texture, and it’s not The Daily Shoot - it’s out-of-town friends we haven’t seen in years. This man has been a friend of ours for over 20 years, and we hadn’t seen him in several years. We finally got to meet his sweet wife tonight. We had a wonderful evening with them, and it’s great to see him looking so happy. I love it when my friends are happy!
