I combined two assignments today - the "details" assignment for my 365 group, and The Daily Shoot assignment to shoot something that is repurposed. This was an oil drum, but now it is my neighbor's burn barrel.

Thanks for stopping in. I’m sorry I haven’t had the time to get around to everyone. Maybe I’ll catch up tomorrow…?

The Friday Challenge for this week is “Abstract.” I decided to shoot something I’ve done before from some different angles, so here it is…

This is one of the wheels I’ve shot a couple times before.

Thanks, Sandra, for the great challenge ideas! Can’t wait to see what’s on the agenda for June!

Friday Challenge day! The challenge today was “bokeh.” For those who are not into photography, bokeh is “the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image.

My manager increased me to 20 hours a week at this new job, so I’ve been very busy! Between kids, work, helping my friend out, photography, and church activities, my head is spinning!

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Food! It’s also the Friday Challenge theme this week, so I got to do two in one! Here is Caleb enjoying his watermelon. I didn’t realize until I uploaded the photo that I had captured the piece of watermelon that went flying. That’s why there’s a piece over the back of his left hand. He didn’t want to get watermelon all over his face, but he soon discovered that the way he was doing it was not working out well. He ended up with watermelon all over his face anyway.

This was shot in full sun with no light modifiers – that’s why it’s so bright with hard shadows.

Today is Floral Friday instead of Friday Food. These lovely blossoms completely cover some of the branches – what kind of tree/shrub is this? It looks like some sort of rose, but the leaves come out after the flowers. Hmmm.

The Friday Challenge was Texture. I used Gary Calicott’s recent post as inspiration for my texture photo…

Today I spent more time outside than in reading about photography. :-)

I’m veering off the theme for today – again. The theme is supposed to be food, but I haven’t shot any food today, so I’m going to share my Friday Challenge photo. The challenge in our 365 group this week is “Shadows.” Here is my shadow photo with the DRI processing.

Friday Challenge! The theme for today’s challenge is April Fool’s fun or Easter. Since I don’t like April Fool’s pranks, I chose to do something that might represent Easter…

This one is actually an “Easter” photo – Caleb holding his preschool Easter basket…

Here’s my collage for the Friday Challenge – Spring Colors. We do have things blooming, but since I’ve shot flowers twice this week I decided to go with something else that indicates spring to me.

I used this template to make this. Not my best photos, but I’m still not up to speed after the stomach bug. I hope to be back in full force very soon! Thanks for dropping by!

For today’s photo, I decided to put the Friday Challenge with the Friday Food. I went with a different interpretation of the “Green” theme for the Friday Challenge. Here are a few of my “green” items – reusable grocery bag, a reusable, insulated lunch bag, my plastic water bottle (reusable), and my snackTAXIs (reusable sandwich bags).

And just because I love, love, love, my polka dot Thirty-One lunch bag…
