I’ve had my Thankful Thursday shot in mind all day, but by the time I could actually take the photo I was too tired, too hungry, too cranky to do it justice. Oh well…

I’m so thankful that Ken now has a job with Dayspring Restoration! Yay! He’s worked for them on a temp basis for several months, but he’s a real employee now! Whoohoo!

This is a side note…I saw this young man petting my cat, and I had to ask…what happened to my BABY?? With those white, lace-up sneakers, the big boy jeans, and the nice sweater he looks all grown up! Where did the last 4 years go?

I didn’t actually walkabout much today – I did get out, but it was in my Scriburban. (For those who don’t know us already, that’s the Scrivner Suburban.) I got out and walked across a bridge for one shot though, so that counts as walking about, right?

I downloaded the 30 day trial of Topaz Adjust yesterday. Now I need to get the money to pay for it – I don’t think I’m going to want to give it up after 30 days! This is a grainy, soft, bland photo on a dark and dreary day…but it was fun to play with Topaz on it.

Here’s one more that I Topazed. There were great sun rays through the clouds, but by the time I could get off the highway to place where I could shoot them the clouds had moved so the streaming light was almost gone.

I had an unusual subject for Texture Tuesday – my Suburban! We had freezing rain this morning, and my vehicle was completely iced over. This is actually a combination of two shots – one of the blue hood with a shot of the icy windshield laid on top as a texture at a low opacity.

And this was just for fun, and just cuz I could. I got the action for this from panosfx.com – it’s from a set called The BnBig Picture.

Just another monochrome Monday! (Did anyone else hear The Bangles when they read that?) This is a church just down the street. I edited with my own normal workflow, then used CoffeeShop Creamy Chocolate on this twice, then put the brand new photo corner template from CoffeeShop on it for a somewhat old-timey look.

Photoshop gurus…what would be your suggested method for removing the car and garbage can from the lower right?

And while I’ve been working on this my mini-geek has been working hard too…

It’s Snapshot Sunday! I did try some outdoor, full-sun, natural light photos of Dale. I didn’t really get any I was excited about…

He was putting on his “serious” look.

This evening I finally cut the boy's’ hair. I don’t enjoy it, but it’s a necessity. Dale took 1 of these photos, Andrew took one, and I took 2. They did a pretty good job!

Scenic Saturday. I had just a brief bit of time to go looking for my Scenic Saturday photo…it’s a busy Saturday for Ken, so I have to be home with the kidlets. It’s also a rather dreary, cloudy, blah day around here. Very flat light on everything, and nothing looks “pretty.” Oh well…here are my Scenic Saturday photos…

I love the ice on this first one – the river is just barely freezing up and the condensation it creates has built up hoarfrost on top of the ice. Pretty cool.

This one has Pioneer Woman’s Seventies action on it. I liked the effect for this very dark day.

I got to go out on a date with my sweetie! We went to dinner at a local mexican place and then went to see Sherlock Holmes. (It wasn’t my vision of Sherlock Holmes, but it was a pretty good movie.) Here’s my Friday Food photo…
