Day 163

(Hey! They changed Windows Live Writer!)

My wireless flash trigger gave up on me today. Ergh. It’s been giving me fits off and on, but today it finally said, “I’m done.” I guess I need to get a new one…I’m totally stuck on off-camera flash!

Fancy got a new hair style today. It’s very cute! I tried to get some good shots using OFC, and I discovered that my trigger died, so the shots I got were all without flash. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera set to shoot without the flash, so they were waaaaay underexposed. I guess I could have changed my settings and tried again, but I got wrapped up in trying to diagnose the trigger problem, and gave up on shooting. So here’s a shot of Fancy that I tried to “save”. It’s noisy and the sun and shadows are all messy…oh well.

Day 162

We had a beautiful spring day today!! Yay!! My brother spent the afternoon with us, and I had a chance to snap a few shots of him and Kristi...

I did get one shot of Michael really smiling, but Kristi looks like a goofball in it, so I didn't do anything with that one. Here's one of just Michael...

And of course...on the first available springy day, one must go sunbathing...

In full-length jeans and a sweater! LOL!!

(BTW, for photog friends... I know my flash was too hot, but I didn't use the adjustable one...I was too lazy to change all the pieces so I could use the adjustable flash outdoors. I tried just moving it back further - the second shot of K & M was with the flash about 8 feet back and 6-7 feet in the air shooting directly at them.)

Day 161

This was nearly a camera-less day. It was so busy with church activities and the Sunday auction that I barely had time to pick the camera up! I did finally take a few snaps of Cheerio, but the light in the room put a real color cast on her, so I converted this one. I was shooting wide open for depth of field - I purposely have a narrow portion of Cheerio's face in focus.

Day 160

I took some adorable photos of a precious 8 month old girl today!! She was just too sweet and happy! Chubby, pink cheeks; two cute little teeth; huge, sparkly eyes...

But I can't show you. Because of privacy issues, I can't share the photos with anyone. So sorry. Really very sorry...because she's so cute, and the pictures came out so well!

Oh well...I'll just have to show you something else.

Austin on the floor

I didn't actually take this today...I took it a couple days ago. But I edited it today. It's nothing special, but getting a shot of Austin without a totally goofy expression is a rarity, so I'll take it.

Day 159

For some reason I suddenly love this mocha conversion! It didn't work as well on today's photo as yesterday's - today's photo was taken indoors in the evening at ISO 800 so there's some grain. The conversion accentuated the grain. Oh well.

One more for fun (this was taken on our trip to Seattle).

Day 158

I actually took a few photos today! This first one is my entry for a challenge on OPS (One Photo Source) that required a new and different camera angle.

This second shot was just a messed up shot I took when I was trying out some off-camera flash stuff outdoors...but I played with it, cropped it, used a mocha conversion...I think it's kinda cute. But I might be biased. :-)

Day 157

I didn't take a photo today. It just didn't happen. But I needed a laugh, so I pulled out a terrible shot I took more than 3 years ago with an old P&S (point & shoot camera).
